What 6374 and 6368 motor sizes actually mean

What those motor numbers actually mean for your ride
When you are shopping for an electric skateboard and you see specs listed as 6374 or 6368 motors, it is easy to assume the bigger number just means more power and leave it at that. The truth is a little more interesting, and understanding it changes how you think about which board actually fits the way you ride.
These numbers are not marketing labels. They are physical dimensions, and each dimension tells you something specific about how the motor behaves under your feet.
Breaking down the number
The format is always the same: diameter first, then length, both in millimeters. So a 6374 motor is 63mm in diameter and 74mm long. A 6368 is the same width but 6mm shorter.
Diameter determines how much torque the motor can produce. A wider motor has more room for stronger magnets and more copper windings, which translates directly to pulling power. Length affects how much of that torque can be sustained under continuous load before the motor gets hot. A longer motor has more mass to absorb and dissipate heat, so it holds its output more consistently during extended climbs or heavy riding.
In practice, a 6374 is a more capable motor in demanding conditions. Not dramatically so, but meaningfully so, especially when you factor in weight, hills and how hard you actually push the board.
Why it matters more than peak watt figures
Most brands lead with wattage when they talk about motors. Evolve boards list motors as 3000W or 3500W each, and those numbers are accurate, but wattage alone does not tell the full story.
